Emerging Clinical Initiatives in Plarmaceutical Development

With evolving public concerns regarding COVID 19 and the potential travel uncertainties the leadership team has decided to postpone the annual Symposium from August, 2020 until April 21-23, 2021. 

The Annual Duke Industry Statistics Symposium (DISS) is organized by the Department of Biostatistics and Bioinformatics, Duke University School of Medicine, and co-sponsored by Boehringer-Ingelheim, ICSA, IQVIA, Janssen, Eli Lilly, NC-ASA Chapter, Parexel, PPD, SAS, UCB, and ViiV. It was established 7 years ago to discuss challenging issues and recent advances related to the clinical development of drugs and devices and to promote research and collaboration among statisticians from industry, academia, and regulatory agencies.

The theme for the upcoming symposium is "Emerging Clinical Initiatives in Pharmaceutical Development.” The first day includes six half day and 2 full day short courses. The 2nd day will begin with a keynote by ShaAvhrée Buckman-Garner, MD, PhD, FAAP  followed by parallel sessions.  On Friday morning, Dr. David Page will give gave a second keynote followed by the remainder of the parallel scientific sessions.
