Applications will open on January 24 and run through February 17 at 5 PM.
Bass Connections bridges the classroom and the real world, giving students a chance to roll up their sleeves and tackle complex societal challenges alongside faculty across Duke. Working in interdisciplinary research teams, students at all levels collaborate with faculty, postdocs and outside experts on cutting-edge research that spans subjects and borders.
Students in the Precision Health and Medicine project team will be immersed in a team-based experiential learning environment tasked with designing a clinical test to meet the real-world needs of patients in the Duke Health System. They will meet with Duke clinician-scientists who will describe a clinical problem and outline a specific set of deliverables that can be achieved in two semesters. Working together, team members will develop a strategy aimed at prodcuing these deliverables.
This is one of 45 Bass Connections projects that will be offered in the 2017-2018 academic year.
