Item response theory (IRT) provides both a theoretical framework for the construction of a multi-item scale (e.g., included in a questionnaire or survey) that assesses a latent variable (e.g., fatigue, depression), and a set of models to analyze the psychometric properties of a multi-item scale and estimate scores. This presentation will provide an overview of IRT modeling and their application for assessing key health outcomes.
This event is being cross-promoted by the NC BERD Consortium, a collaboration of the CTSA-funded BERD cores at UNC-Chapel Hill, Wake Forest University, and Duke University.
