B&B faculty, research staff and students had a strong presence at the annual JSM (the Joint Statistical Meetings) meeting this year. Due to ongoing COVID-19 concerns, JSM was held online. JSM is the largest gathering of statisticians and data scientists held in North America. The theme for the conference was Everyone Counts: Data for the Public Good.
This year’s JSM program was one of the broadest, with topics ranging from statistical applications to methodology and theory to the expanding boundaries of statistics, such as analytics and data science. The list of presentations is below. For more details about each talk, search the JSM 2020 Conference Program.
JSM also offers a unique opportunity for statisticians in academia, industry, and government to exchange ideas and explore opportunities for collaboration. Beginning statisticians such as our Masters and PhD students within the department are able to learn from and interact with senior members of the profession.
