DCRI held a tribute roast and retirement celebration for Dr. Kerry Lee at the Washington Duke Inn Ambassador Ballroom. It was widely attended by many researchers who have collaborated over several decades with Professor Lee. Faculty Members Kevin Anstrom, PhD and Michael Pencina, PhD added their remarks as did Chairwoman DeLong with highlights of Dr. Lee’s career at Duke.
Dr. Lee's final remarks included a quote from Florence Nightingale “ Statistics….is the most important science in the whole world, for upon it depends the practical application of every other science.” Professor Lee’s research activities have focused on the statistical and data coordination aspects of several large multicenter clinical trials, and on statistical issues in the design and analysis of collaborative clinical research projects associated with the Duke University Cardiovascular Disease Database.
Dr. Lee will continue with the Department as Professor Emeritus.
