CANCER

Raluca Gordan was part of a team investigating the genetic variants associative with levels of circulating angiogenic proteins in cancer patients. Read more

David Hsu and team generated six colorectal patient patient-derived xenografts (CRC PDXs) models and treated each PDX to voluntary wheel running (exercise) for 6–8 weeks or no exposure to the wheel (control). A comprehensive metabolomics analysis was then performed on the PDXs to identify exercise induced changes in the tumor that were associated with slower growth. Read more

Sayan Mukherjee, Lawrence David and team created a modeling framework to study human-associated microbiota in an artificial gut. Read more

GENOME VARIATION

Paul Magwene and team describe mitochondrial genome variation in 96 diverse Saccharomyces cerevisiae strains and assess associations between mitochondrial genotype and phenotypes as well as nuclear-mitochondrial epistasis. Read more
