Two of GCB’s core facilities, Sequencing & Genomic Technologies and Proteomics & Metabolomics, will move into custom-designed lab spaces in the newly renovated Chesterfield building in downtown Durham. The new lab space will expand our capabilities and capacity to support Duke University’s research needs. The Chesterfield is located at 701 W. Main Street, in the heart of Durham’s Innovation District.
- These state-of-the-art labs will allow us to provide the best possible sequencing, proteomics and metabolomics resources for researchers at Duke and around the world. We expect to continue adding new instruments and technologies to both core facilities in the coming years to respond to the needs of Duke researchers, boost overall sample capacity, and reduce turn-around time.
- We will remain open for business during this transition and do not expect any disruptions in services.
- We will continue to provide direct contact with researchers on campus. Core facility faculty and staff will be available during and after the transition for face-to-face consultations in the Fitzpatrick CIEMAS building or the Chesterfield building according to your preference.
- Sample drop-off options for both cores will be available on campus in the Fitzpatrick CIEMAS building room 2208B in early July or researchers may also drop off samples downtown to Chesterfield.
- All Do-It-Yourself services will remain in the Fitzpatrick CIEMAS building.
