Claims databases usually consist of millions of billable healthcare services and their related diagnoses, procedures, pharmacy prescriptions, financial and other information, and have been used as a rich data source for healthcare research. This presentation will first provide an overview of claims data and caveats of working with claims data, followed by a few example studies to illustrate the types of analyses that can be done with claims data.
This event is being cross-promoted by the NC BERD Consortium, a collaboration of the CTSA-funded BERD cores at UNC-Chapel Hill, Wake Forest University School of Medicine, and Duke University School of Medicine.
