Carl de Boer, PhD Assistant Professor, School of Biomedical Engineering

Speaker:

Carl de Boer, PhD
Carl de Boer's vision is to build a comprehensive understanding of gene regulation such that we can predict the cell types, genes, and regulators that are perturbed by any regulatory genetic lesion, enabling a better understanding of gene regulatory evolution and disease, and design of drugs that treat regulatory genetic variation. This vision requires innovation and discovery at multiple levels; accordingly, the Boer lab's work spans engineering molecular, cellular, and computational tools, exploring gene regulatory mechanisms and evolution, and creating gene regulation drugs.
