Symposium dates: April 9-11, 2025 Theme: "Driving Clinical Research Forward with Advanced Statistics and Data Innovations: Biostatistics in the age of AI/ML" The symposium will delve into the cutting-edge realms of biostatistics and data innovations within pharmaceutical development, particularly in the context of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML). Opening Remarks by Dr. Michael Pencina, Chief Data Scientist, Duke Health and Vice Dean for Data Science, Duke University School of Medicine. Keynote presentations by Dr. Gregory Alexander, FDA and Dr. Haoda Fu, Amgen. Short Courses on April 9, with the option to attend in-person or virtually, include topics on AI/ML Applications, Randomized Clinical Trials with Information Borrowing, Applied Improvisation for Statisticians and Data Scientists, Pediatric Studies with Bayesian Borrowing, Rare Diseases, and Hierarchical Endpoints. Parallel sessions with invited speakers from industry, regulatory agencies, and academics are offered on April 10 & 11 with topics highlighting ML/AI in Drug Developments, Covariate Adjustment in Clinical Trials, Restricted Mean Survival Time, Adaptive Clinical Trials, Biomarker Real-World Studies, Pediatric Drug Development, Dose Optimization in Oncology, Biosimilar and Bioequivalence Studies, Multiple and Hierarchical Outcomes, Nonclinical Statistics in Regulatory Applications, Bayesian Decision-Making and Dynamic Borrowing, and Design of CNS Trials. See the website for discounted registration fees for students and postdoctoral scholars and Duke faculty. We invite submissions for poster presentations and the poster lightning talk session.
