Two faculty members honored as Fellows of the American Statistical Association

Duke Department of Biostatistics and Bioinformatics faculty members Herbert Pang, PhD , and Anru Zhang, PhD , have been elected as 2026 Fellows of the American Statistical Association (ASA) for their professional contributions, leadership, and commitment to statistical science. They were among 46 ASA members nationwide elected this year.

The Fellow designation has been a significant honor for nearly 100 years. Under ASA bylaws, the Committee on Fellows may elect up to one-third of one percent of the total association membership as Fellows each year.

The designation ranks among the ASA’s highest honors.
