Peijin Wang and Yi Liu Receive DISS Best Poster Awards

Biostatistics doctoral student Peijin Wang and master of biostatistics alum Yi Liu were honored with the 2025 Best Poster Award from the organizing committee of the annual Duke Industry Statistics Symposium (DISS) on April 9, 2025.

Wang won for the poster titled, "Joint Modeling of High-dimensional Longitudinal and Time-to-event Data using Supervised Low-rank Tensor Decomposition."

Liu won for the poster, "Targeted Data Fusion for Causal Survival Analysis Under Distribution Shift." Liu is currently a doctoral student at North Carolina State University.

Congratulations to Qiao Wang for Receiving the 2025 JSM Early Career Paper Award!

We are thrilled to announce that Biostatistics Postdoctoral Associate Qiao Wang has been honored with 2025 Joint Statistical Meetings (JSM) Early Career Paper Award as one of four recipients by the Biometrics Section of the American Statistical Association. This award recognizes her paper titled “Bayesian hierarchical models with calibrated mixtures of g-priors for assessing treatment effect moderation in meta-analysis.”

Biostatistics PhD student, Peijin Wang, has received one of the Student Paper Travel Awards from the International Conference on Health Policy Statistics (ICHPS). The award recognizes her paper titled “Integrating Randomized Controlled Trial and External Control Data Using Balancing Weights: A Comparison of Estimands and Estimators.”

PhD Candidate Lemoto Receives Early-Career Award

Elaona Lemoto, a PhD candidate in biostatistics and bioinformatics, has been awarded an Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Early-Career Award from the Society for Clinical Trials (SCT).
