Susan Halabi Receives Distinguished Alumni Award

Susan Halabi, PhD, James B. Duke Distinguished Professor of Biostatistics & Bioinformatics, was awarded a distinguished alumni award from the Department of Biostatistics and Data Science at UTHealth Houston School of Public Health.

Halabi received the award during a conference to celebrate the department’s 55th anniversary, which brought together more than 150 researchers, alumni, and students to explore the future of data-driven sciences.

"I am deeply honored to receive this inaugural alumni award from the Department of Biostatistics and Data Science at UTHealth School of Public Health — a true homecoming and a reminder of where my journey began,” Halabi said. “This recognition not only acknowledges my work but also celebrates the collaborative efforts, mentorship, and the support of my family, mentors, and colleagues who have shaped my journey. I am sincerely grateful to the faculty, students, and staff I met at UTHealth School of Public Health who enriched my experience and contributed to my growth, and this honor renews my commitment to advancing rigorous research and mentoring future scientists."
