Duke PhD in Biostatistics Celebrates 2022 Hooding Ceremony

The Duke Biostatistics Doctoral Program had four PhD Students participate in the Graduate School’s Hooding Ceremony held on Saturday, May 7, 2022. Each student and their respective faculty mentor participated in the Hooding Ceremony. Also, in attendance, Biostatistics and Bioinformatics Department Chair, David Page, PhD and the Director of Graduate Studies for the Biostatistics PhD Program, Sean O’Brien, PhD.

 Zidi Xiu, PhD, mentored by Benjamin Goldstein, PhD, held her public dissertation entitled, “Improving Clinical Prediction Models with Statistical Representation Learning,” in July 2021. 
Xuechan Li, PhD, mentored by Jichun Xie, PhD, held her public dissertation entitled, “Multiple Testing for Data with Ancillary Information,” in March 2022. 
Siyun Yang, PhD, mentored by Laine Thomas, PhD, held her public dissertation entitled, “Propensity Score Methods For Causal Subgroup Analysis,” in March 2022. 
Xueqi Wang, PhD, mentored by Liz Turner, PhD, held her public dissertation entitled, “Marginal Methods for the Design and Analysis of Cluster Randomized Trials and Related Studies,” in March 2022.
